This exhibition will be on display from February 12 through October 2. Prepare to have your heart strings played by this powerful story of love, adventure, tremendous loss and solace. Ron Lawrence established a wildlife sanctuary in Uphill at North Star Farm and recorded humorous and touching tales from this time in The Zoo That Never Was. In this exhibition find out why he left the farm and undertook an Alaskan sea voyage. These stories leave an unforgettable imprint on the heart.

Around the Frayed Edges
April 1-30 2010
Exhibition is on display from March 18 through May 29. This exhibition delves into the outer edges of fibre arts. Fibre arts is a style of fine arts made with textiles and is more concerned with creativity and skill in the end product than functionality. In Around the Frayed Edges a narration will be spun through work that pushes the confines as to what an artist can do with fibre today. Twenty-seven fibre artists from across North America have created works for this exhibition. From sculptural to painterly to installations this leading edge exhibition addresses all of the visual arts elements – all in fibre. Curated by Laurie Carmount

The 2010 Wine Club at Grill on the Gull is underway. Tastings will feature Canadian and World wines in a casual environment. Wine representatives will be present during the evening for conversation. Proceeds from wine sampling will used to support Minden Cultural Centre Culture Club which provides local youth programming during spring break and summer. Guests will gather around the bar between 4:30 and 6 PM for wine sampling and casual conversation with a representative from the winery. Or enjoy dinner from 6 PM - 9PM in our dining room with table side sampling and conversation. Your choice. Come early, stay late. Our regular menu will be available for dinner with a Chef’s Feature inspired by the wine of the hour.
